In this episode of Modern Mentor, Rachel Cooke discusses the concept of lifelong learning, what a lifelong learner is, and how it differs from regular learning. Lifelong learning is a way of being and believing that involves staying open, curious, humble, and flexible. She speaks about what you should do in order to embrace lifelong learning.




Biosciences alumni and former postdocs discuss diversity, equity, inclusion, and the impact of the pandemic on their work in this article from Stanford Medicine. They share perspectives on identity, diversity, and inclusion in their everyday practice of science and how the pandemic has impacted their field and work. The article highlights the importance of DEIBJ initiatives in clinical research, and creating workplace conditions that leverage the benefits of a diverse workforce among other topics. The alumni also offer advice to underrepresented and marginalized trainees as they pursue their graduate degrees or postdoctoral research.



Adam Alter, a marketing professor at NYU Stern School of Business, discusses methods for overcoming plateaus or roadblocks in work and careers in this episode of the IdeaCast podcast: "Breaking Through When You Feel Stuck." Alter's new book, Anatomy of a Breakthrough: How to Get Unstuck When It Matters Most, explores these methods further.
