Welcome to our weekly showcase featuring a curated selection of valuable resources shared by our community. We explore various topics, including professional development, diversity, equity, and mentorship. We enjoy sharing these resources and hope they will benefit you as much as they have benefitted us.

Well-designed mentorship programs can enhance personal growth, career progression, and profits for companies. Mentoring also leads to happier team members, higher retention rates, and more meaningful connections. However, many organizations lack a formal program, leading to dissatisfaction and underwhelming outcomes. In this LinkedIn article by Social Scientist Deanna Brown, she discusses what it takes to create an impactful mentoring initiative.

Politics and DEI, what impact do they have on your organization? A Pew Research Center report found that 56% of employed U.S. adults support increasing workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts, but opinions on specific DEI initiatives vary across demographic and political lines. The study also found that Democrats were likelier than Republicans to support DEI initiatives, and women were likelier than men to value DEI at work. Check out this short read to learn more about these trends' impact on workers.

The conversation around inclusivity tends to avoid acknowledging the lack of resources available for those with disabilities. In this episode of the Knowledge at Wharton podcast, we meet Sheila Xu (deaf) and Sheri Wells-Jensen (blind), accomplished professionals on a mission to make space exploration accessible to all through the non-profit AstroAccess. They are also leaders in the discussion around the importance of accessibility in the workplace and help companies implement the proper changes. Sheila and Sheri recommend changing the system instead of asking disabled people to change, using technology and universal design, and recruiting top-notch candidates. If you want to learn more about the challenges deaf and blind individuals face and what you can do to assist in their mission, take a listen.
